In this video you'll learn the Breath of Joy, it's a great bit of pranayama or breathing exercises. Prana doesn't just mean breath, but also life force. So when you engage in any mindful breath work, you're stimulating the life force inside your body, moving energy and oxygenating your system.
To begin Breath of Joy find a place to stand with a little bit of space around you so you can freely move your arms. Take 3 sips of breath in through the nose (as demonstrated) and exhale forcefully through the mouth. Really let go. Hang out for a moment or two if that feels like what you need. Repeat as needed. Once finished spend a moment or two in Tadasana and bring your attentions inward and notice how you feel.
This is a great exercise for the holidays, anytime you feel stressed or anytime you're hanging on to something your need help letting go. Enjoy and see you in class!
